Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the moderating role of supervisor support and coworker support in the relationship between internal crisis communication and perceived uncertainty. A survey, as a quantitative data collection technique, was administered to 256 academic and administrative staff working at universities operating in earthquake regions. The research hypotheses derived from the relevant literature were tested using survey responses. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, regression, and analyses of moderator variable effects were conducted using SPSS 25. The findings indicate that internal crisis communication significantly affects perceived uncertainty and that supervisor support moderates this relationship. Accordingly, both internal crisis communication and supervisor support play significant roles in reducing perceived uncertainty during crisis periods. Furthermore, it was determined that coworker support did not moderate this relationship.
