Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of mindfulness on work-related emotional exhaustion and to determine the mediating role of psychological resilience and workload perception in this effect. The study population consists of healthcare professionals residing in Mersin and Adana provinces. Within the scope of the research, data obtained from 214 employees via a questionnaire method were analysed using the Smart PLS program. As a result of the study, it was determined that workload perception assumed a partial mediating role in the relationship between mindfulness and emotional burnout. Psychological resilience did not play a statistically significant mediating role in the relationship between mindfulness and emotional exhaustion. In addition, it was concluded that employees' mindfulness, psychological resilience and workload perception affect employees' emotional exhaustion. Therefore, it is essential to develop comprehensive policies that enhance the level of mindfulness and psychological resilience among employees in healthcare institutions. It is hoped that the study's findings will contribute to the work of researchers and practitioners in the field of health.
