[BMIJ] Renewals in Publication Policy!

RENEWALS BEING IMPLEMENTED UNDER PUBLICATION POLICY

1. Assessment Process For Articles Submitted in English

Scientific assessment and review of articles in English is an essential matter in terms of enhancing our publication quality. To this end, Murat Bayrak, Director of School of Foreign Languages of Bursa Technical University, has attended to our editorial board as the Linguistic Editor. Articles in Turkish will be assessed in terms of English title, abstract and keywords by the Linguistic Editor.  If the article is in English, the Linguistic Editor will assess it from a linguistic perspective and will reach one of these three probable decisions:

Acception of the Article:  It has been decided that the article which is in English is sufficient in terms of its language. It is suitable for the scientific assessment. In this case, the article is sent to editor of the related department for the scientific assessment stage.

Corrections Needed in the Article: There are linguistic mistakes in the article which is in English. Before the scientific assessment stage, corrections in terms of linguistics are required. The article is sent back to the author(s). To be able to continue its assessment as an English text, the article must be sent back to the editorial board of the journal after necessary corrections have been completed. The article which has been accepted as sufficient after correction of linguistic mistakes and review is submitted to editor of the related department for the scientific assessment stage. If it is decided that the article in English is not sufficient, it is rejected.

Article Rejected: The article which is in English has been found insufficient in terms of its language. It is not suitable for the scientific assessment. It is sent back to the author(s). The article will be accepted for scientific assessment and sent to editor of the related department only if it is submitted in Turkish language for the application.

2. Plagiarism in the Article

Articles which are sent to BMIJ journal for application are first scanned by a program against plagiarism. Studies with a plagiarism rate above 30% will not be accepted for scientific assessment stage.

3. Entering the Member ORCID Number Information

Some situations such as name similarities, changing surname, names including letters from Turkish alphabet, orthographic differences, changing institution can be a problem during publication/reference reviews done with author name. Therefore, it is necessary for researchers to have a defining ID/number. We ask authors applying with their articles, in particular, and our all members to fill “the ORCID Number” section within the subscriber information on the journal registration system.

ORCID is the abbreviation for Open Researcher and Contributor ID.  ORCID is a 16-digit URI number compatible with ISO Standard (ISO 27729) which is also known as International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI).

For individual ORCID, you can register for free at http://orcid.org

We present our thanks and best regards to our all subscribers
